Generalist Adviser

Seven Resourcing are looking for a number of temporary Generalist Advisers to work in Uxbridge. These positions are initially for a period of 3 months and will be paying £16.00 per hour (paid to you via an umbrella company).

The role:
As a Generalist Adviser you are to provide a high quality, effective and efficient advice and casework service to members of the public and to contribute to social policy work in accordance with the aims and principles of Citizens Advice and the requirements of its Membership Scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

- Use Citizens Advice and other appropriate resources to find, interpret and communicate all relevant information to clients in a manner they can understand.
- As a Generalist Adviser you are to provide appropriate advice, researching and exploring options and implications, to help clients set priorities and make informed decisions.
- As a Generalist Adviser you are to act for the client using appropriate communication skills and channels. Undertake casework on clients’ behalf, write letters, negotiate with third parties as required.
- Accept referrals, also refer internally or to other agencies as appropriate.
- Maintain clear, timely and accurate case records that meet the quality standards required for continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring, accountability and report preparation.
- Seek support as necessary to ensure a high quality of advice, good practice and that the degree of casework taken on is appropriate.
- As a Generalist Adviser you are to co-operate with the arrangements of the Advice Session Supervisors and Project Supervisor(s) in providing cover and delivering the advice services required.
- Work in a variety of settings including community outreach, Jobcentres and local authority offices as required and when doing so, promote the service.

Applicant Requirements:

- Qualifications: N/A.
- Experience: For this post you must hold the Certificate in Generalist Advice Work (or equivalent through experience at an independent advice centre or law centre for example) and have significant recent full-time experience or part-time equivalent of advising clients and carrying out casework. You must be capable of providing reliable high quality advice.
- Compliance: Proof of right to work in the UK and 2 x references.
- Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
