**_Overview:_**
As a Publisher, you will be responsible for the editing and checking of the Hansard documents for government publications. The documents will be produced and then outputted to both web and printing so must be checked through thoroughly.
The location is in the heart of hustle and bustle of the publishing world, the hallway meetings here are invaluable to anyone who wants to be involved in the fascinating world of government publishing & journalism.
The team in which this role lies has extremely rapid progression and has the expected tenure of 12 - 18 months.
Due to the role being unsociable hours, they have made sure to make this as comfortable as possible by offering _normally_ uncommon benefits:

**_Key Responsibilities:_**
Content Preparation and Publishing
- The role also involves some nightly creation of the publications.
- Creating business publications (including Hansard and procedural publications) for both pint and web, which adhere to agreed designs and standards.
- Working alongside content colleagues in Procedural Publishing Unit (PPU) and procedural offices to ensure smooth copy flow.
- Working with specialists in PDS to resolve any software and/or system issues which could inhibit the production of publications.
Relationship and Communication
- Assisting colleagues and customer to resolve document copy and production issues.
- Communicating effectively with customers and content providers while establishing productive relationships with the wider PPU team and Vote Office teams.

**_Desirable Skills:_**
- Familiarity with complex work environments and structured data (XML).
**_Working Hours:_**
- Shift pattern: Start at 7pm and finish around 3am (Monday to Thursday) or 2pm to 9pm on Fridays.
Standard business hours during non-sitting periods.
