A development company based in Mid Wales specialising in building new build homes is seeking a Groundworks Labourer, self employed basis typically 40 hours week, with more often available.
Salary between £12 and £13 per hour depending on experience
A groundworks Labourer will work as part of a team who carry out the first, and frequently the last, work on a construction site.
A groundworks labourer is responsible for carrying out a wide range of duties, including:
To set up a site, erect barriers, safety signs, huts, etc
Dig trenches for foundations
Prepare the ground/foundations to allow construction to commence
Follow all health and safety protocols
Provide excavation support to other construction workers
Interpret the use of drawings and specifications
Lay pavements, kerbs and driveways
Concreting sites
Install & Remove drainage and pipework systems
Operate plant machinery, such as excavators and dumper trucks
Clear a construction site
Redirect waterways and connecting pipes with current pipework
Building shuttering & formwork for concrete
Tying together steel mesh and rebar
**Skills Required**:
Ability to follow instructions
Good problem-solving skills
Working effectively as part of a team
Basic numeracy skills
Good level of physical fitness
Enthusiastic with a good work ethic
Must be CIS registered.
Experience in one or more of the duties above is required, but the opportunity to learn other skills will present itself. You will work under a supervisor, as part of a team and occasionally alone with full instruction. Experience of operating plant machinery is a big bonus.
We have sites based across Mid Wales, typically based in either Devils Bridge (SY23) or Lampeter (SA48), so the ability to get to and from locations is required.
