We are currently seeking to appoint Transport Planners within our Delivery Directorate, helping to provide technical planning advice on major infrastructure transport schemes including those in the;

West Yorkshire plus Transport Fund (WY+TF); Transforming Cities Fund (TCF) Programme; Active Travel Fund (ATF); and the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement (CRSTS).

In 2021 the £1.8bn devolution deal was secured for West Yorkshire. This meant the first Mayor of West Yorkshire was subsequently elected, with Tracy Brabin taking up post in May 2021.

The devolution deal and election of the Mayor has enabled us to start to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and helping to deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

**The Role**:
Reporting to a Senior Transport Planner, you will have the opportunity to join a team which is responsible for assisting with the development of the details for a broad range of transport projects across different parts of the region from concept level to design stage, through undertaking and coordinating feasibility studies and consultation exercises, while liaising with partner authorities and key stakeholders.

**Recent examples of the type of projects the team have been involved in include**:

- Bus station redevelopment projects
- Delivery of new rail stations
- Walking and cycling schemes
- Bus corridor improvements
- Highways and junction schemes
- Placemaking and public realm enhancements

**Your key responsibilities will be**:

- To provide specialist transport planning advice to internal colleagues and partner organisations on how to ensure transport projects and initiatives are designed to maximise benefits and value for money.
- To specify tests and analyse outputs from a range of strategic transport models such as SATURN, VISSIM and UDM to develop optimal, affordable and effective projects.

- Educated to degree or equivalent relevant education/ experience.
- Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
- Experience of local transport policy and delivery issues, including current legal, financial and
