Have you recently retired or retiring shortly from a leadership role in finance, communications or fundraising?

The Bath Literary and Scientific Institution is one of Bath’s best kept secrets. From our Grade One listed buildings in Queen Square, we deliver an amazing year-round programme of world-class lectures (face to face and online). We also stage numerous events and exhibitions, drawing on our exceptional museum collection built up by previous generations of members in their travels throughout the world since our formation in 1824.

We are a successful charity and have several volunteer (and part time) roles to fill in our leadership team; working to deliver our charitable mission of the promotion and advancement of Literature, Science and the Arts. Our current key challenges are progressing our ambitions to grow our audiences and develop what we do into a Cultural Hub for Bath and beyond. These volunteer roles supervise small teams / committees drawing on contractors and other volunteers in three support areas: finance, marketing and communications and fundraising (and subsequently helping to manage transformational projects)

If you are recently retired and interested in a rewarding volunteer role at the heart of a small but special charity, please get in touch. You should be a committed individual with extensive senior level experience of one or more of the appropriate disciplines of commercial management, finance, marketing, communications, fundraising and / or project management and enjoy working with like minded teams. Familiarity with working at Board level is sought plus experience in the charity sector an advantage but not essential.
