**The Role**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sample Processing Coordinator to join us. This is a permanent position reporting to the Head of Bioanalytical Sample Management.

This role will be based at our Alnwick site which has recently had a £6 million investment in the drug manufacturing facility and also offers flexible working arrangements.

You will be responsible to know where the samples are at all times therefore organisational skills and time management skills are a requirement for this role. You will also work closely with our Analysts and other business departments hence you will need fantastic communication skills too.

**Main tasks and responsibilities**
- Working directly with clients during study set-up, providing flexible support and input into study documentation e.g. Laboratory Manuals and Data Transfer Specifications.
- Performing discrepancy resolution, sample reconciliation and preparation of LIMS files for transfer to clients.
- Setting up LIMS database to allow sample receipt, chain of custody, generation of data files, barcode label generation (where necessary), monitoring of sample disposal timelines and liaising with clients for disposal authorisation.
- Monitoring of Bioanalytical Services sample storage units (refrigerators, freezers and room temperature in High Level Preparation Laboratory), including maintenance of logbooks, verification of EMS RTD probes within regulatory compliant units. Validation of new sample storage equipment for Bioanalytical Services.
- Maintenance of Bioanalytical Services test material and controlled substances inventory.
- Participation in audits as requested by Regulatory Authorities, Clients and Site QA department.
- Ensuring work is conducted in compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures and Client requirements where appropriate.
- HND/HNC level (or equivalent) in a related discipline is desired but not essential
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- An excellent multi tasker
- Experience working in a hazardous environment
