**Electrical Design Engineer, Manchester, Competitive Salary**

Due to growth and resource required on exciting multiple projects, SPIE UK require an Electrical Design Engineer to join our design team in Manchester who specialise in SPIE EE and MSS clean rooms, production & research facilities, and general buildings.

Want to provide your electrical services design experience in a new role where you will work with multiple clients? As well as being trained in the 18th Edition design, you will bring your knowledge from your Engineering qualification and your expertisein having used a wide range of electrical building service systems and equipment.

**Reporting to Warren, our**Lead Electrical Designer (who will provide you with training and show the tools you will need), you will be responsible for providing technical and detailed design based upon conceptual documents as well as verbalbriefs, load analysis. design development and tender documents.

The role will interface with the estimating disciplines as well as the other members of the design team, subcontractors, and client representatives. Assist in producing electrical design drawings, calculations, schedules, and proposals for the design department.

Attendance at the office will be required at times however an amount of working from home is allowable. You will attend client design/project meetings and provide feedback to colleagues and site-based teams.

**What skills will you need**
- Your electrical services design duties will include but not be limited to the following:
Low Voltage power distribution design for building services.

Circuit Protection with correct disconnection times in LV final distribution.

Lighting design with reflected ceiling plans, suitable uniformity, and coordination with HVAC

Lighting Controls.

Cable Calculations.

Containment sizing including consideration of de-rating.

Structured Cabling with segregation.

Fire alarm design with BS5839 signoff.

Emergency Lighting design with BS5266 signoff.

Drawing markups, sketches, schematics to brief the CAD department.

Schedule and BoM production.

Costed estimate sheets with full trail of price makeup.
- Building Management Systems and associated principles.
- IT literate with a technical understanding of IT packages relevant to the role, mainly Amtech, Relux / Dialux, Trimble Contract Master.
- Extensive Excel experience with the ability to estimate templates.
- Experience of creating an itemised estimate with an understanding of markup and margin.
