Pink Tile Education are seeking a Residential Children's Support Worker (Autism, SEN) to join their growing team of amazing workers, working with their incredible children
Job Designation: Residential Support Worker
Reports to Home Manager/Deputy
**Main Purpose of job as Residential Children's Support Worker (Autism, SEN)**:
You will be required to provide high quality care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of the Children and Young People ,through providing a caring, supportive and nurturing environment, establishing positive relationships and ensuring that each young person's care plan is followed and amended to reflect their changing needs you will play a key role in their development and wellbeing. You will provide a key role in promoting and supporting them as they move towards independence.You will be required to work full-time over varying shift patterns including days, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Paid sleep-ins will also be required.
**What you'll need to succeed**:
It is desired that you have a minimum of two years' experience supporting complex needs children. Furthermore, you will ideally be an enthusiastic, committed and resilient individual who wants to make a difference by working as part of a team to support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Educated to GCSE. (Can be evidences in other professional training).
NVQ3 (in Childcare) preferred, or be prepared to study towards is essential which will be funded by the company.
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
High standard of reporting and recording. Evidence of undertaking a supervisory role in relation to staff within a residential environment. Informal and formal supervision of staff. Leadership and motivational skills.
Good interpersonal skills. Work on own initiative. Good communication skills.
**KNOWLEDGE**
Wide knowledge of the behaviours displayed by children and young people and understanding of intervention strategies.
**ABILITY**
To develop and maintain effective team working practices across the staff group.
To communicate with outside agencies, children and their families.
Promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children, young people and staff.
**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent (3 days a week rota)
Schedule:
- Day shift (7:00am or 9:00am, latest finish 11pm)
- Alternative weekends
- Sleep ins are paid at a premium if wanted
Desired:
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (Children & Young Person)
**Education**:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving License (preferred due to location)
