**Job overview**:

- To work as an Advanced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist within the Integrated Community Stroke Specialist Team
- To autonomously undertake comprehensive assessment of those referred using investigative and analytical skills and to formulate individualised interventions based on advanced clinical reasoning and partnership working.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of education across the stroke pathway, including the statutory and voluntary sector.

**Main duties of the job**:

- To support and mentor the more junior speech and language therapists, including supervision and appraisal as required.
- Act as a lead or supporting clinician during Mental Capacity Assessments; facilitating communication and ensuring all practicable steps are taken to optimise the individual’s communication.
