This position would suit an organised, methodical individual with an eye for detail, who understands information standards and has an interest in the Planned Care area within NHS Wales. The role is focused on clearly identifying the key business, information and data requirements associated with all aspects of Planned Care. The post holder will work closely with the Lead Specialist in Data Standards and be involved in the development of standards in areas such as Outpatients and Admitted Patient Care.

NHS Wales relies on high quality data and information to deliver safe and efficient patient care, to effectively plan new healthcare services, manage the performance of Welsh NHS Local Health Boards and Trusts and understand the cost of patient care delivered across Wales. High quality data is underpinned by data standards that are robust, intelligent, and reflective of current clinical practice. DHCW plays a central role in the design, development, and implementation of national information standards to ensure the collection and reporting of high-quality information in support of ongoing improvements in patient care in Wales.

NHS Wales relies on high quality data and information in order deliver safe and efficient patient care, to effectively plan new healthcare services, manage the performance of Welsh NHS Local Health Boards and Trusts and understand the cost of patient care delivered across Wales.

THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT UNTIL MARCH 2024 TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE.

- Assist with the development of national information standards, and subsequent Data Standards Changes Notices (DSCNs).
- Work with Sponsors and Developers of new information requirements.
- Research the current practices being undertaken by other Home Countries in relation to Health Information Standards.
- Develop and implement processes, tools and documentation to underpin the development, publication and maintenance of robust information standards.
- Admin support for meetings by producing agendas, taking minutes, and managing actions.
- Responsible for undertaking data standards impact assessments across Wales to measure the impact of the introduction of new data standards.
