We are seeking a full time Head of Flight Trials to join our friendly team. Reporting to the Director of Capability Development (Cap Dev), for the formulation and delivery of the Cap Dev Trials Annual Financial Plan. Responsible to the Airline Accountable Manager for the professional and successful conduct of the Cap Dev Trials flying activities. The role is primarily based at DSA alongside Capability Development's Part 21J organisation and will involve occasional travel to other Company sites and Client locations to support operational demands. Support to Trials’ activity may take place from any Company location and deployed locations to meet customer requirements.

The role’s key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Responsible for the professional conduct and output of Cap Dev Trials personnel in accordance with the Organisation’s processes and procedures to meet customers’ expectations.
- Ensure appropriate levels of resource to safely and efficiently deliver the Cap Dev Trials service set within agreed budgets or communicate additional resource requirements
- Oversee security for Cap Dev Trials
- Co-ordinating with other departments within the company to ensure Trials' efficiency
- Communicate at all levels and intelligently support other Team members at meetings with Clients, including Senior Military and Government personnel
- Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the Company Safety Management System (SMS) and Quality Handbook.
- Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the Cap Dev Processes as detailed in the Project Management Handbook (PMH), Quality Manual and the Trials Process Manual
- An emotionally intelligent, resilient, analytical, and motivated leader and team player with excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- A demonstrable knowledge of flight trial’s philosophy and best practices from an operational evaluation, flight test of AeroSystems background.
- Demonstrable experience of project management, or similar support-function experience, in a fast-paced and rapidly changing aviation environment
- Knowledge of civilian flight operations and airworthiness regulation, risk and safety management.
- Knowledge of military flight operations and regulation.
- Knowledge of Part 21 and/or Part 145 regulations or a willingness to undertake training to become competent in these areas
- Experience in Bid-writing, Non-Disclosure Agreements and Contracts
- Good Microsoft Office skills

In addition, applicants will have to prove automatic right to work in the UK, whilst holding or be eligible to obtain a UK security clearance.
