Papermill is an exciting startup based in Manchester, on a mission to transform the way companies and individuals create documents. We’re post-funding, post-revenue, and we’ve recently been awarded significant Innovate UK funding.

**What you’ll do**

You’ll help us make the world’s documents beautiful. You’ll help us build powerful design and typesetting tools, and integrate cutting edge AI. You’ll work with great engineers who love what they do and enjoy the freedom and collaboration of a startup.

This is an in-office role, initially part-time, but there will be opportunities to increase your hours in future. We support flexible working schedules.

**Responsibilities**
- Work on an AI-focused project that will use the latest advances in generative AI alongside our typesetting technology to empower users to create beautiful designs.
- Design user interfaces for interacting with a new AI product.
- Carry out UX Research: interview potential users and work with existing customers to constantly iterate and improve on our service.
- Work with our engineering team to develop a self-service version of our document creation service, including creating novel design tools.
- The ability to work independently and adapt to rapidly changing requirements in a fast-moving startup.

**Essential Requirements**
- At least three years of UI/UX experience working on web apps.
- Strong Figma design skills.
- Experience of UX research, including user interviews.
- A strong team player.
- Right to work in the UK.

**Desirable**
- Experience with InDesign.
- Experience or passion or curiosity for graphic design and/or typesetting.
- Product management experience.

**Compensation and Benefits**
- Salary of £18-22K (0.4
- £45-55K FTE) depending on experience.
