Humberside Police are looking to expand the Records Management team with the addition of several temporary Review, Retain and Disposal Offices (RRD Officers). This is a fantastic experience to join our organisation for those who have experience of working in a data management environment.

The role of the RRD Officer is critical to supporting Humberside Police in managing risk to the public, by ensuring that we meet all legislation relating to retention, review and disposal of information held by the organisation.

In this role you will ensure all information imputed onto our systems has a legal rational for onward retention. You will produce reports based on any issues with findings, offering examples, explanations and potential solutions to the issue. As well as continually reviewing both legacy and new systems, you will become an expert on all things RRD policy, to be able to provide advice and knowledge to other staff members in the Force.

As an RRD Officer we are looking for you to be methodical in your work, ensuring that a high level of attention to detail is applied to all tasks. It is important that you keep up to date with all current laws and policy, to ensure all remedial recommendations and actions are correct and accurate.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provides a technical point of contact within the Records Management Section for users on all national retention guidance and the RM Code.
- Ensures that this knowledge is reflected in local policies and guidance and assists in providing training support.
- Ensures that risks to the Force in terms of RRD and data management, which may affect the ability to provide business as usual both now or in the future, are identified and escalated to the Deputy Records Manager and/or relevant business system owner.
- Produces structured written reports to the Deputy Records Manager, detailing RRD issues, providing detailed examples, explanations and suggested actions/solutions and in the absence of the Deputy Records Manager liaises with Branches/Command addressing the issues of RRD when necessary.

**What the role requires**:

- Literate and numerate, educated to GCSE level.
- Working knowledge of using IT systems, including previous experience in a data management environment.
- Experience of operating computers to input, amend, retrieve and evaluate large quantities of information.
- The ability to maintain a high level of concentration to analyse records for RRD purposes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to be able to communicate with all levels with the force and external agencies.
- Good presentation and report writing skills.
- Possesses high attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks undertaken.
- Ability to proactively identify improvements to working practices from internal and external sources.
- Demonstrates the ability to implement best practice where appropriate.
