Due to the expansion of our Out of school club an exciting opportunity has become available for an energetic, dedicated and fun individual to help run our out of school club. In this role you will work alongside the manager to provide a high quality of care and create amazing opportunities for the service users.

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: 27.5 hours per week

Reports to: Team manager

Rate of pay: £9.50 p/h / 44 weeks per year (£11495.00 per year)

Job summary

**Hours of work will be -**

**Term time: Breakfast club 7.30am - 9.00am (Monday - Friday), **After school club 2.15pm - 5.45pm (Monday-Thursday) / 11.45am - 5.45pm (Friday). School holidays 27.5 hours worked across 4 days.**

**We are a Living Wage employer and offer a rate of £9.50 per hour.**

**Holiday clubs run if there is sufficient demand during the year, additional hours are available.**

**Key responsibilities**

**To assist in the provision of children’s play based activities that reflect our ethos, the social, educational, physical and recreational needs of the children.**

**To facilitate the positive integration of children and young people with disabilities, behavioural difficulties and/or special needs within the out of school club provision.**

**To ensure the wellbeing and safety of the children.**

**To build and maintain strong partnership working with parents to enable children’s needs to be met.**

**Ensure the care and maintenance of equipment and materials.**

**To undertake any other reasonable and relevant tasks as identified by the manager as well as Covid related tasks.**

**Person specification Qualification /certificates**

**The relevant qualifications (SVQ 3/ HNC or above)**

**Knowledge of child protection, first aid and play. Experience**

**Background in working with children in a play/childcare setting. (at least 3 years)**

**Experience of working with children with additional needs would be an advantage.**

**Skills & Knowledge**

**Excellent communicator and an outgoing personality.**

**Good time management and organisational skills.**

**Ability to work effectively within a team and when necessary to lead.**

**Excellent planning skills and knowledge of play based learning.**

**Willingness to commit to continuous learning through training opportunities.**

**Awareness of policies and procedures required in childcare environment.**

**The relevant knowledge of playwork principles and the benefits of play.**

**IT skills, capable of working with Microsoft Word and Excel (training can be offered if required)**

**A full, clean driving licence is an advantage but not essential.**

**Good sense of humour**
