**Role Overview**:
To lead and manage the Public Law Outline procedure for Children’s Services and to have conduct of family proceedings in the court arena.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Regular liaison with the Client Department to establish plans of action/contract of expectations for cases that have entered the Public Law Outline procedure and agree timetable for assessments.
- Attendance and advocating on behalf of the Client Department at PLO meetings held with parents and their respective solicitors.
- Drafting of legal documentation; with particular reference to Children’s Social Care and Education matters, to also include Letters of Instructions to Experts.
- To have conduct of allocated court proceedings and to undertake advocacy on non-contested hearings at court on behalf of the client department.

**Key Requirements**:
To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

- Solicitor or Fellow of the Institute of Legal executives or the possession of equivalent qualifications / experience
- Post qualification experience of conducting court proceedings in the Family Court
- Experience of advising on a range of issues including social work, family and education matters
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing with people from a range of backgrounds.
- Ability to cope with sensitive and emotional issues.
