Mitchells Chartered Accountants are looking for 2 enthusiastic individuals to support their busy accounting team with the aim of becoming a member of the AAT. You should be well organised, dependable, proactive and able to take the initiative while enjoying working within a friendly team.

JOB ROLE: Accounting Apprentice

JOB TYPE: Full time with study leave entitlement

OFFICE HOURS: 36.25 hours per week.

**DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO**:
**Key Responsibilities -**
- assisting in the preparation of accounts by completing the working papers;
- dealing with book keeping and subsequent submission of VAT Returns
- Assisting with the preparation of tax returns
- handling payroll systems that calculate wages and salaries;
- using computerised accounting systems.
- helping qualified accountants with accounts inspections (audits)
- Taking telephone calls and passing on messages
- Working as part of a team to ensure the delivery of excellent service to clients.
- Undertake any other duties that may be required from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- A minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English
- A minimum of 2 A Levels (not essential)
- Numerate (desirable but not essential)
- Agricultural connection is desirable but an interest is essential
- Be flexible and prepared to help others when needed
- Excellent IT skills - Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to multitask and to work accurately and effectively under pressure
- Professional and confident telephone manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work in a team
- Should have attention to detail
- Committed to studying
- Act as a positive ambassador for Mitchells, Chartered Accountants at all times when dealing with clients or representing the business

**Job Types**: Full-time, Apprenticeship

**Salary**: £15,000.00-£22,000.00 per year
