DevOps Engineer

**ROLE**:DevOps Engineer
**WORKING HOURS**:Flexi Hours between 8am - 6pm (37.5 hours) but daily core hours need to be met.
**LOCATION**:Leighton Buzzard -**remote** if based outside of commuting distance
**THE TEAM**
The wider IT Team has roughly 200+ employees which is made up of separate teams of 1^st Line, 2^nd line, 3^rd line Technical Engineers, Infrastructure, InfoSec, Architects, Developers & BA’s, as well as Specialist team consisting of DBAs, Cloud Engineers, DataAnalysts and DevOps engineers,. You will be joining an expanding Technology team that faces on going challenges around providing the best possible IT experience to a growing organisation and bridging the gaps between IT Development and IT Operations.
**RESPONSIILITIES**:

- Develop the IT Operations Departments DevOps platform in Octopus Deploy and Azure DevOps.
- Progression of key projects i.e. expansion of DevOps platform, integration of new in-house solutions, migration of web sites from self-hosted to Azure.
- Support development change from within the IT Operations department.
- Research, devise and set implementation best-practices for new processes and technology platforms e.g. dynamic development platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting of advanced web platform issues.
- Ongoing management and maintenance of Windows/IIS production hosting and development environments.
- Responsible for IT Operational Development on domain utilities and IT service tools.

**REQUIRED**:

- Knowledge of automation deployment tools such as TFS, OctopusDeploy.
- Programming Languages - Strong VB/C#.NET skills, JavaScript, CSS.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell for Windows and Microsoft systems administration
- Experience of PaaS platforms in Microsoft Azure, i.e. App Services, Function Apps.
- Experience with Advanced Azure Monitoring tools such as Application Insights/Log Analytics.
- Good working knowledge of Windows Server Administration and specifically IIS Administration is desired.
