The Physiotherapy Service at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals is seeking a Clinical Lead Respiratory Physiotherapist who will both lead the team and hold a complex clinical caseload in the field of lung disease and respiratory conditions commensurate with grade. Demonstrating compassionate and inclusive leadership skills, they will be responsible for a team of 70, across a range of inpatient and outpatient services serving the local community and South East Region of England.

Applicants should have a proven record as an expert clinician and clinical leader with demonstrable research and education experience, alongside experience in implementing change and innovation in clinical practice and be educated to Post-Graduate level.

To lead the operation, governance and development of respiratory physiotherapy services across the organisation. They will drive quality improvement informed by local and national strategy and the development of a creative, resilient and productive workforce.

Working closely in partnership with the Senior Consultant Physiotherapist, they will inform the development of respiratory physiotherapy strategy and support the development of knowledge and an inquiring culture and research activity.

To take a lead role in the KHP Cardiovascular Partnership Programme, strengthening the profile of physiotherapy to support achievement of the programme vision.

- To lead the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of high quality, safe, effective and efficient care across a comprehensive range of lung and cardiothoracic services.
- To work in partnership within the organisation, with the Senior Consultant Physiotherapist and across the broader system
- To foster and take innovative approaches to the development of respiratory physiotherapy service delivery amongst multiple teams locally and regionally.
- To work in partnership with the Senior Consultant Physiotherapist to evolve respiratory physiotherapy services to meet local, regional and national requirements and priorities.
- To be a specialist, expert practitioner in physiotherapy provision to patients with cardiorespiratory conditions, working with an advanced level of professional autonomy, accountability and scope of practice in the provision of clinical care for rehabilitation and management of chronic cardiorespiratory conditions.
- To be an expert consultant in specialist area(s) of respiratory physiotherapy practice across the organisation influencing and shaping new models of care and innovation in practice.
- To have a leading role in the development of quality improvement and research in area of clinical practice and / or service areas across the organisation
- To lead, develop and support staff within the respiratory physiotherapy services, clinically and professionally at a local level and to advise nationally.
- To work in collaboration with academic institutions to help determine and define education, training, research and practice development requirements in an area of practice and / or across a range of respiratory physiotherapy services.
