My School Tutor are a supplementary education provider delivering high quality tutoring to children aged 6 - 16. We operate as a non-profit social enterprise with a core focus in raising literacy and numeracy levels. We aim to ensure progress in learning is taking place by striving to provide a learning atmosphere that enables students to reach their potential. We have been delivering our services for over 10 years utilising tailored resources and experienced tutors who have helped to provide an unparalleled method of learning which enables students to excel in their studies.

We are looking to recruit a Secondary English Tutor to provide small group tutoring to KS3/KS4 students who attend our centres in the BL1 & BL3 areas of Bolton. There may also be opportunity to deliver sessions online. The main role will be to assist students in improving academic achievement by meeting with them on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills.

Other assistance will include: Forming learning plans according to student requirements and the National Curriculum, monitoring and recording weekly progress, reviewing class material, discussing text, practicing test questions/past papers, formulating ideas for papers, and exam preparation. Additional duties will include, setting homework, discussing progress with parents and preparing progress reports.
- Teachers QTS/NQT
- Undergraduate/Graduate level in English or Secondary Education or;
- Graduate working towards a formal teaching qualification.

Successful applicants will find this an ideal setting to fine tune their teaching skills and trial new teaching and learning methods.

Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum, topics per year group and exam prep knowledge is essential (GCSE’s).
