**Pay rate (Assignment rate)**: £12.86 per hour

**Contract Length**: 3-Months

**Duties**:

- Be the responsible person for passengers who may have learning disabilities, other cognitive impairments, and physical and sensory impairments on their way to and from school or college, day centres or other venues
- Communicate effectively with people who have complex physicaland mental disabilities, who may be agitated at times
- Work in accordance with our safeguarding policy
- Work as part of a team in order to deliver an outstanding service to our communities
- Some requirements for moving and handling and supporting children or adults e.g. assisting people to walk, pushing a wheelchair and securing harnesses/ child safety seats

**Requirements for the Passenger Assistant role**:

- Willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check
- Be familiar with, and adhere to, the values and be compliant with key regulations i.e. Health and Safety/Safeguarding, standards and procedures
- Be physically able to undertake all the requiredcaring aspects of the role
- Be able to work as part of a committed and dynamic team to achieve the shared goal of delivering consistent and outstanding service
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills in order to answer questions from the passengers, fill in time sheets and write incident reports
- Previous experience working with, or caring for, in some capacity, children or adults with learning disabilities, other cognitive impairments, and physical and sensory impairments or are vulnerable,either through voluntary work, paid work or through family commitments
