Accounts Assistant

Poole, United Kingdom Limited Space Ltd Full time

We are a well-established national media owner that focuses on retail, lifestyle and social destination environments. We have an office in Poole and a team of people who work alongside agencies in London.

You will be wroking in a busy accounts team assisting the FC.

Your responsibilites will include, but not limited to:
Customers:

- Responsible for the accounts receivable function from raising and issuing invoices
- Ensure customer contact details are up to date in Xero
- Work alongside Invoice Finance provider, uploading invoices to finance and draw down funds
- Reconcile Invoice Finance account to Xero
- Reconciling Customer payments on Xero
- Issuing reports on overdue invoices and chasing up overdues
- Issue monthly statements to Customer

Suppliers:

- Responsible for the accounts payable function, processing supplier invoices, matching invoices to orders
- Invoices to be matched against correct nominal codes, campaign code and that VAT is properly accounted for
- Use DEXT to code and publish invoices to Xero
- Request supplier statements and reconcile to accounts in Xero
- Ensure payment dates are correctly identified
- Ensure supplier contact and bank details are updated in Xero

Bank:

- Set up payments to suppliers using Wise Pay in Xero
- Reconcile Bank, Invoice Finance and Credit Card accounts in Xero

Payroll:

- Update employee details in Bright HR
- Update employee details in Xero payroll
- Run the monthly payroll from Xero
- Upload employee monthly pension contributions for Workplace Pension Scheme

Staff Expenses:

- In DEXT code and create monthly expense reports for employees who have uploaded receipts to claim back
- Publish expense reports to Xero

Monthly Management Accounts:

- Assist the Financial Controller in the production of the monthly Management Accounts and campaign analysis
- Prepare reports on the financial performance
- Calculation of guaranteed rents, centre returns from campaigns and Volume Rebates to agencies

Ad Hoc:

- Working on additional projects when required, providing information to Sales, Operations and Commercial Teams
- Ensuring Xero and other Finance datbases are up to date

Experience and Qualifications:

- Completed AAT
- At least 3 years finance experience in performing day to day finance function
- Competent user of Xero
- Competent Excel user/experience of pivot tables
- Working in a team and independently
- Good organisation and communication skills
- Problem solver and able to work accurately at fast pace
- A great sense of humour :)

Personnel and Reporting:

- Report to Financial Controller
- Liaise with CFO, Founders and Co-Managing Directors
- Liaise with all company departments

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Poole: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 3 years (required)
