**Visitor Experience Cafe Supervisor Role**

**Purpose of the Role**

As Cafe supervisor you will be supporting the VE Management team to provide leadership and management to all our team. Demonstrate a commitment to delivering the highest standards of customer service within the Café. You are at the front line of the customer experience, you are required to ensure that the needs of the customer and clients are fully met. We ask you lead by example and provide support and mentoring to the team and encourage a friendly positive working environment. Below outlines what your responsibilities will be, this is not exclusive and other duties may be added over the time.

**Location**

You will be based at both Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre and will be required to work across both spaces.

You may be asked to tour with productions and undertake other projects off site on occasion.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- To have a good interest and knowledge of café barista standards and drinks presentation
- Perform end of day procedures on all tills and hand over any discrepancies to the duty manager.
- Preparing food and drinks orders
- Taking and serving food and drinks orders
- Stock ordering for cafe this includes wet goods, dry goods, and consumables.
- Stock is put away and rotated.
- To perform full stock take, of wet and dry goods at the café.
- Maintain regular cleaning schedules, daily, weekly, and monthly.
- Maintain systems in place to ensure everyone knows what they are doing, when setting the Cafe up for service and closing at the end of service.
- Keep track and report to management of any wastage, transfers, and complimentary drinks.
- Regular maintenance checks on equipment, report any issues to management.
- Help in the training and development of the team, identify those who need extra training and support.
- Help identify any promotional activities we can do to promote drinks and snacks.
- Drive customer service and standards within the team, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Lead by example, be supportive and support each other and the team.
- Be part of the Visitor Experience Team and carry out any duties as required

**Person Specification**

We are looking for people who can play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of Perth Theatre and Concert Hall, operating as a member of a high-performance team, with the following skills and experience:
**Essential skills & experience**
- A minimum of one years’ experience within a café/hospitality role
- Cash handling skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Bring enthusiasm and energy to the business
- Flexible approach and willingness to learn new skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Excellent customer care skills
- Develop great working relationships with your fellow team members
- Standards in work and appearance.
- Dependable with good timekeeping
- Being willing to work as part of a team and support your colleagues
- Multi-tasking skills, ability to adapt from one to the other

**Desirable skills & experience**
- Catering environment experience
- Knowledge of Scottish Arts Scene
- Experience of training team members
- First Aid Certificate
- Food Hygiene Level 2

**Rate of Pay**
- Hourly Rate: £10.67
- Paid monthly in arrears by bacs transfer
- Basic rate of pay will be reviewed annually on 1 April

**Hours of Work**

You will work an average of 35 hrs per week, this will be annualised at 1820 hours per year (pro rata for the first year of service). The year runs 1 April to 31 March. His is a day-time position which includes weekend working.

**Annual Leave**

Annual Leave entitlement is 30 days (rising by 2 days after 3 years’ service plus an additional 3 days after 5 years’ service), 2 of which are fixed - Christmas Day, New Year’s Day.

**Pension**

The Company operates auto-enrolment and has a Pension Scheme in place. We will comply with legislation around auto-enrolment including opt-in and opt-out arrangements.
