**About us**:
Epson Telford Limited was established in 1987, we are on a 50-acre site and operate a 24/7 manufacturing site.
We are the only European manufacturing and distribution site for ink cartridges and têxtile inks. These products are shipped to an Epson warehouse in Germany where they are then distributed throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Quality and innovation is at the heart of everything we do, from our Cleanroom environment to our in-house machinery, design and technology improvements from which we use our own Epson 6-axis robots.
**Hours of work**:
3 Rotational shift pattern:
Week 1 - Sunday 11.00pm to 6.00am Monday to Thursday 10.00pm to 6.00am
Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 2.00pm to 10.00pm and Friday 1.00pm to 8.00pm
Week 3 - Monday to Thursday 6.00am to 2.00pm and Friday 6.00am to 1.00pm
**Main job functions**:
Lead your direct team on shift consisting of production operatives and technicians to deliver OTIF to customers whilst achieving business metrics.
Co-ordinate labor requirement to meet production demand
Adhering to Epson’s high standards for safety and quality, supporting growth of a positive culture and driving behaviours to align with expectations.
**Duties and responsibilities**:
- To ensure the health, safety and welfare of all staff. Ensuring all staff are correctly inducted/ trained and have the relevant risk assessments, safe systems of work
- Oversee day-day operations of the Ink Blending, Lab and Textile areas
- Drive cell productivity and escalate performance gaps with solution
- Support delivery of KPI’s focusing on S,Q,C,D within your responsible departments
- Identify opportunities to improve business and production processes (Kaizen) to exceed expectations for KPI’s
- To drive a continuous improvement culture within your teams through Kaizen activities. Leading by example on shift
- Support and drive Ink manufacturing trials and evaluations, in line with SEC demands and project timelines
- Ensure reporting is complete OTIF to support departmental communication and data capture
- Ensure effective stock management systems are in place and controlled to ensure all products and Parts stock is managed in line with Company stock accuracy targets
- Ensure all departments on shift work cohesively and seamlessly to deliver optimal output
- To ensure that staff are managed in accordance with performance criteria and targets
- Train all staff to suitable level alongside development of WI and risk assessments. Keep training matrix up to date
- Drive workplace management to achieve high standard of 5S
- Adherence to KPI to ensure improvements within production Department on all levels and ensure the correct data is captured and reported in the format that drives this production Department forward
- Ensure all documentation, audits, training are complete inline with ISO-45001, 9001 requirements
- Calibration control of all blending and laboratory equipment is maintained in a timely manner
- Ensure quality specs ate adhered to on both incoming and finished goods via laboratory checks
- The make up of ink is kept completely confidential due to the sensitive nature of the recipes
- Ensure daily checks on ink cartridge and ink is completed and to product conformity utilising laboratory equipment
- To lead by example and always demonstrate a professional attitude and take ownership of all the day to day activities of the Department
- Achievement of daily targets and actions to be implemented if underperforming
- Work with planning and engineering to implement productivity and efficiency improvements and reduce downtime
- Ensure Manpower utilisation is fully effective across the Department and task allocation is controlled
- Ensure all Staff are working to the relevant quality standards/plan and procedures, any defects are controlled in line with our procedures and corrective actions are implemented to reduce the risk of re-occurrence
- Identification of training needs for all personnel to ensure maximum flexibility within the operation through training and development. To drive a continuous improvement culture within your teams

**Qualifications (desirable)**:
- ILM Level 3 or above in supervisory management or above
- IOSH - Managing Safely
**Experience required (essential)**:
- Previous experience of management ability
- Previous experience in a quality and evaluation environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Performance management of staff
- Delivery of production target and improvements
