**Who are we?**

First Marine Solutions (FMS) are a service provider to the local and international renewables and oil & gas sectors specialising in the engineering, design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of mooring systems for floating platforms. FMS also specialise in the planning and undertaking of marine activities related to floating platforms such as towage, vessel loadouts, marine assurance, and assisting with location planning and consent.

**The Role?**

We are looking to recruit a Trainee Draughtsperson to come into the business and develop a keen understanding of our activities and contribute to the continued growth of the company through the development of the role holder into a Draughtsperson working within the local market.

The role will be primarily office based in Aberdeen supporting the consultancy team and wider engineering function producing detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings, reporting directly to the Drawing Office Manager.

**What will you do?**
- Prepare engineering drawings in AutoCAD & SolidWorks software (part, assembly, general arrangements), including fabrication drawings, storyboards, and all mooring related drawings.
- Prepare detailed 3D models.
- Prepare high quality CAD generated renders.
- Create and update drawing office project documentation (BOMs, drawing registers) as required.
- Provision of draughting and graphics services to project teams.
- Liaise with engineering, marine, survey and research and development departments with respect to drawing office input to projects.
- Ensuring that all drawing office activities are managed and delivered in accordance with business requirements.
- Maintain awareness of operational and commercial risks relating to the marine and engineering functions.
- Undertake technical work, contributing to service delivery, in accordance with client and company expectation, in a timely, accurate, safe, and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain knowledge of policies, standards and procedures for the engineering technical work delivered by the function.
- Gain knowledge to each FMS department through understudying and shadowing to develop an understanding of each departments workings, assets, and services.
- Maintain and gain knowledge of FMS business activities and enhance technical competency through ongoing professional development such as training courses, work-shadowing, and self-study.
- Optimise the utilisation of resources to ensure revenues and profitability are maximised.
- Work with the wider FMS functions to increase the companys involvement with existing clients and promotion of additional FMS services.
- As required, provide input/support to tendering and business development activities.
- Assist with any other duties as and when required.

**Your Qualifications & Experience**

Essential:

- 2 Higher qualifications (one ideally in Maths)
- Confident MS Office Suite user

Advantageous:

- HNC in related discipline
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Blender 3D or similar
- Knowledge of Adobe Software (illustrator, photoshop etc)
