Ward Clerk

An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Ward Clerk vacancy for Medical Ward.

Applicants must be able to deal pleasantly, efficiently and sympathetically with all patients / relative enquires at departmental level. Experience of working in a hospital environment would be desirable as well as using Oracle, WPAS and IT systems.

The position involves Administrative support for the nursing staff.

Applicants will work alongside the nursing team on the ward and will be required to be responsible for answering all ward telephone calls to the department as well as directing enquiries to appropriate member of staff. Good I.T. skills are desirable, as the post holder will be responsible for entering all patient information data etc, onto the hospital computerised WPAS system.

The post holder is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support at ward level as well as supporting the ward staff through maintaining the ward Myrddyn patient information system (patient admission / transfers / discharges).
