**About the Service/Department**

Highbury Grove Recovery House (HGRH) is a recovery focused and psychologically informed 12 bed residential house where adult residents of Islington and Camden can stay for up to 14 days, if they are experiencing a mental health crisis. During their stay residents can expect high quality, non-clinical support from trained Recovery Workers and Re-settlement and Re-integration workers to reduce their crisis and make plans to avoid future crisis, using a range of interventions including; 1-1 support, safety plans, wellness & recovery action plans and social prescribing. Recovery Workers support the people using the service link in with statutory and other voluntary sector providers and access the local community.

**About the role**

The main purpose of the role is to provide excellent, high quality support and interventions to those staying at HGRH who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

You will support individuals throughout their stay by carrying out support and interventions in line with organisational values and the ethos of recovery and co-production, as well as in line with policies and procedures.

Some of the main responsibilities of the role include:

- To carry out individual one to one sessions with service users and support them to develop their own wellness recovery action plan and safety plans
- To maintain accurate records of service user visits, support and interventions provided and any outcomes
- To signpost and refer to other appropriate local services to meet service user needs
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders such as crisis teams and teams within the local authority
- Assist individuals on their journey to recovery by developing and leading well-being sessions and groups
- To assist in the promotion and development of the service

**About you**
- An understanding of recovery approaches and the principles of recovery
- Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative and to support with the induction of new peer staff, students and volunteers
- Ability to engage clients in assessments and 1-1 support and to co-produce, implement, record, review and audit support and safety assessment plans
- The ability to create and deliver activities with clients which help them reduce anxieties, develop their confidence and self-esteem and help them to plan for a self-defined recovery journey
- The motivation to maintain consistently high delivery standards and service user standards, even when faced with unpredictable behaviour and potentially challenging situations
- Knowledge of wider legislation to support people in a MH crisis including welfare reform, the Care Act, Housing pathways
- Good knowledge of MS Office systems, able to use computer systems including case management systems Excellent stakeholder relationships building
- Ability to work flexibly, including during the evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Although it is preferable for you to have experience of supporting people with mental health and complex needs, full training can be provided
