Four Square Scotland is an Edinburgh charity working for more than 40 years to prevent homelessness and promote inclusion. We provide services directly to people who are homeless, or who are at risk of homelessness to overcome any barriers they may face in creating a stable life for themselves in their community. **Edinburgh Furniture Initiative**:
Edinburgh Furniture Initiative is an established second-hand furniture store. Located in the centre of Edinburgh EFI is one of Scotland’s largest re-use social enterprises.

Operating as part of Four Square, a homeless charity, EFI provides an independent income stream for Four Square and operates with three main aims:
❖ to provide low cost, high quality furniture to people on low incomes;
❖ to provide employment and training opportunities for people who have been homeless or who are at risk of homelessness; and
❖ to promote the re-use economy and prevent useable goods going into landfill.

**The Role**:
Maintaining high standards of customer care when delivering and collecting furniture safely and efficiently to and from designated locations within set timeframe. You are required to work Saturdays 9-5, Sundays 11-5.

**Duties & Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive and other tasks may be required)**:
❖ Loading the van to transport stock, collect donations or deliver purchased items;
❖ Take responsibility to maintain safe working practices at all times;
❖ Ensure that the aims of Four Square are communicated by actively promoting and demonstrating excellent customer service and professionalism throughout every stage of the delivery and collection process.

❖ Keep accurate records of deliveries and customer authorisation and ensure all documentation is submitted to management on time;
❖ Properly use and maintain delivery equipment;
❖ Lifting heavy products;
❖ Drives safely and follow all laws and rules of driving to maintain a safe and healthy work environment;
❖ Keeps company vehicle clean and ensure it is well-maintained, has fuel, oil and is ready to drive;
❖ Carry out daily van checks, record and inform management of any defects;
❖ Communicates with customers by phone to update them of time of deliveries if there have been issues or changes to their estimated time of arrival;
❖ Follows pre-planned route accurately without deviation from set course;
❖ Maintains communication with management to be informed of any change of delivery, route or schedule;
❖ Informs management of any obstructions to making safe, efficient deliveries on time.

**Requirements**:

- A full clean driving licence with previous experience in driving a van;
- Friendly and approachable;
- Courteous driver;
- Good customer service skills;
- Good communication skills;

- Enthusiastic;
- Ability to handle heavy furniture;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Ability to work in a team;
- Be physically fit;
- Able to meet deadlines.

❖ £20,000 per annum, pro rata (salary increase pending)
❖ 35 days annual leave entitlement rising to 40 days upon completion of 5 years' service, pro - rata for part time

The interview will be scheduled for the week 6/3 - 10/3 at our Head Office and Store, located on Georgie Road, Edinburgh, EH7 2RN.
