Hartlepool, United Kingdom North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with an interest in Hearing Impairment - Hartlepool and Stockton.

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and well-organised Speech and Language Therapist with experience of working within in a community setting to join our friendly and supportive children’s team.

This is a permanent full time post, based in the Hartlepool and Stockton part of the service.

We are a large service covering Stockton, Hartlepool, Darlington and Durham. As such we are able to offer high quality support and supervision as well as in service CPD opportunities.

The post will provide the opportunity for a clinician to retain their broad based skills working within a community setting. The post holder will also manage a small caseload of children with hearing impairment, receiving support and supervision from a lead therapist. This post therefore offers a mix of generalist work as well as the opportunity to develop more specialist skills in a defined clinical area.

In addition to working with children and young people of all ages, the post-holder will have some line management responsibility for less experienced clinicians within the team. There will also be opportunity to be involved in the planning and delivery of training to a range of partners.

**This post offers the opportunity to**:

- Work closely with health colleagues, partner agencies, parents and carers.
- Manage a mixed and varied caseload whilst developing further skills in working with children with hearing impairment.
- Help develop the service provision within a specified locality area.
- Be involved in developing the children’s workforce with support from our clinical leads in health promotion and workforce development.
- Work within a range of community settings including clinics, home visits, mainstream and special school settings.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of teaching and training to parents, carers, volunteers and professionals involved in the care of the client group with support from the lead clinician.

At North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust our main priority is, and always will be, to provide safe and high quality care to our patients every day; the kind of care we would want for ourselves and our loved ones.

We want our organisation to be the best place to work with the right staff, in the right roles, at the right time, to ensure we deliver exceptional patient care and experience.

We will support staff through providing an inclusive and supportive workplace with health and well-being initiatives, staff benefits and opportunities for personal and professional development. Staff recognition is very important to us; as well as performance reviews and appraisals, we recognise staff through Star and Team of the month, colleague recognition - a note of thanks, Managers Awards, Shining Stars and Service Awards.

We actively encourage staff involvement with staff networking events and staff survey
