Trainee/anatomical Pathology Technologist

The Mortuary Service at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust currently deals with approximately 6000 deceased each year from across West Sussex and Brighton including St Richards Hospital, Chichester, Worthing Hospital Royal Sussex Hospital, Brighton and Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.

We currently have 2 HTA licences 12286 and 12142 which will become one eventually.

This post is for a newly qualified APT or a Trainee APT to join the team supporting the post-mortem service and the Mortuary Assistants as required. The Trust carry out approx. 1200 post-mortems per year in Worthing. The post-mortem room at Worthing is currently being refurbished therefore the appointed person will have a new PM room to work in.
- Full local training and competency assessment/sign-off will be provided as per the HTA standards. Additional training and career progression are encouraged wherever possible.

The standard hours are 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm with an hour for lunch (department closes 1-2pm).

Travel to all sites will be required to support service needs.
