**Finance Manager (Agriculture)**

AJ Chambers are delighted to be partnering with a highly reputable agricultural business that is a market leader in their specialist field. You will work closely with the Managing Director to help drive the business forward with the support from the rest of the long-standing and friendly team.

As the Finance Manager, you will be solely responsible for the finance functions for the business and overseeing the practice management. You will ensure that deadlines are met, and a consistently high level of service is provided to the business and clientbase, whilst ensuring the finance systems are maintained and up to date.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Finance Function**:

- Solely accountable for the preparation of management reports, variance analysis, monthly management accounts, year-end statutory accounts, assist in the budgeting and cash flow forecasting and month/financial year-end and update cash flow daily, adheringto strict deadlines
- Carry out financial analysis on data and make recommendations for costs savings/efficiencies
- Manage credit control
- Oversee post supplier invoices and credit cards
- Payment of suppliers, wages, PAYE, VAT, Pension, staff expenses etc
- Process monthly staff salaries including appropriate deductions and enhancements as agreed
- Review and File company VAT returns with HMRC
- Assist in developing systems and processes in the financial systems
- Review and renew insurance and other business contacts as required
- Prepare financial data up to VAT preparation and submission
- Manage payroll system including year-end

**Operational Management**:

- Monitor timings and job costings
- Oversee all billing
- Solely accountable for developing and providing key management information, KPI’s and associated analysis to support the continuous improvement of key processes and controls whilst adhering to strict deadlines
- Draft and send payment schedules and update relevant systems in a timely and efficient manner
- Manage and update finance systems and carry out month-end checks

**Bookkeeping**:

- Prepare financial data up to VAT preparation submission
- Reconcile bank to Xero
- Scan purchase invoices onto receipt bank and process into Xero
- Send out for approval and mark as approved
- Check off any purchase invoices against purchase orders
- Ensure all sales invoices are input to Xero

**Ad-hoc**:

- Liaise with clients, suppliers and staff as required and provide a consistently high level of service
- Maintain systems and data correctly and ensure systems are kept up to date
- Ad hoc project-based and systems work
- Assist in obtaining finance where required
- Any other duties that may be required by the company

**Person Specification**:

- Commercially minded and driven
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA or Qualified by Experience (Part Qualified or Finalists will also be considered if your experience is suitable)
- Hands-on Xero experience
- Experience working within an agricultural business or project-based environment will be advantageous
- Due to the location of the business, the successful individual must drive

**Remuneration and Reward**:

- Our client is offering an attractive salary ranging between £35,000 to £45,000 per annum
