Priory Hospital Bristol is an elegant 18th century country residence set in beautiful parkland close to the centre of Bristol, less than 5 minutes away from the M32 leading directly onto the M4/M5 motorway. Bristol is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group it has 77 beds over seven wards varying from Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Adult Psychiatric Intensive Care, Acquired Brain Injury, Huntingdon’s and Dementia, along with a growing outpatient therapy service.

**Health and Leisure Instructor Vacancy at Bristol Priory Hospital.**

Do you want to support patients to increase their physical activity levels and improve their health and wellbeing? If you do, an exciting opportunity for a Physical Therapy post within the Therapy Service at Bristol Hospital has become available.

Your role will provide group and individual exercise sessions within the Health and Leisure facilitates on site and some off ward sessions within the secure area of the hospital, hospital grounds and local area.

You will work with patients in safe and supportive environments, providing exercise and fitness interventions, which meet patient’s needs and choices.

You will receive regular supervision from a qualified Therapist and join a supportive, creative and nurturing team who promote a recovery-focused service to the patients.
You will be computer literate and be able to demonstrate ability to adapt communication styles to meet the needs of a range of individuals, including people with autism and complex needs.

**Qualifications**
- Qualified to Level 3 Personal trainer registered through REPS / CIMSPA.
- Experience of working within gyms or the fitness industry
- Experience of working with people with complex mental health needs

**Skills/Knowledge**
- Good level of fitness
- Good and effective communication skills
- Good people skills - friendly, talkative, honest.
- Good listening skills.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to work under pressure and within personal boundaries
- Team player.
- To act in a professional at all times
- To comply with individual requirements under the Health & Safety Act
- Aware of the potential risk patients pose when accessing equipment.
- Ability to empathize with patients in line with Priory confidentiality policies
