We are looking for a shunter that will be responsible for directing the movement of vehicles, cleaning & fuelling within the yard area. You will report into our Engineering/operations department.

**About the Role**

We are looking for a full-time shunter to ensure that all vehicles are moved safely within the yard area adhering to all health & safety policies. Your responsibilities will include:

- Clearly directing vehicles around the yard and workshop areas.
- Fuelling all vehicles to ensure ready for departures
- Ensuring coaches are externally washed.
- Minimise the amounts of reversing where possible and be aware of the dangers caused when reversing.
- Use practical techniques and agreed systems of signalling and hand signals to assist drivers and operatives in all manoeuvres
- Be visible to drivers at all times whilst directing vehicles.
- Stand in a safe place, from which to guide all vehicles without being in the way
- Keep traffic areas free of pedestrians
- Be fully compliant with the PPE requirement of the site
- Communicate clearly and effectively with drivers and contractor that visit the site
- Report any near miss incidents involving vehicle movement in the yard to the shift supervisors and or Management.
- Comply with all Health & Safety, HR and environmental policies and procedures
- The above list is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected with in the scope of the post.

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Strong problem-solving capabilities with short and long-term planning with excellent attention to detail
- Quality focus with drive to work in a team and individually at all levels with clear communication
- Desire to work in an exciting driven team to lead improvement with rapid change, adhering to all Health and Safety regulations
- Current FULL Driving Licence held
- High organisational skills are required with the ability to prioritise workloads which continually change

**Desirable**
- A PCV Licence

- £11.00 per hour on a 4 on 4 off working pattern 18:00pm - 06:00am
