Sunderland City Council has an exciting opportunity for 3 hard-working, motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join Environmental Services as Apprentice Vehicle Fitters.

You will be based in the Fleet Services team and will gain experience in operating a variety of equipment, driving large goods vehicles and undertaking plant and vehicle maintenance. You will be provided with unparalleled support throughout the duration of your employment, develop the skills you need for the job by working alongside your Fleet Management colleagues and gain hands on experience.

As an Apprentice Vehicle Fitter, you will undertake the Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance technician apprenticeship and will be required to attend Gateshead College 1 day per week. You will be supported through the apprenticeship by a college assessor, and you will also receive regular mentoring in the workplace from your supervisor and team.

Contract length: 36 months

**Salary**: £12,328.00 per hour
