**The Role**:
Our apprenticeship programmes are an investment in both you and your career. This apprenticeship is a Field Based role and runs over a 3-year period, it is offered on a full-time employed basis, pays a competitive salary, a company car, and provides you with genuine prospects. Based close to York / North Yorkshire.

Joining our Claims Inspector’s team, you will enjoy a combination of ‘on and off the job training,’ consisting of working with and being mentored by our members of our Claims Inspector team. Providing an opportunity to contribute positively to the day-to-day operational activities of the team from an early stage. It will give you an opportunity to gain a real breadth and depth of experience in our Claims Investigation role, as well as first-hand contact daily with our policyholders.

The scheme provides a genuine opportunity to progress to a more senior role within the Claims Inspector team.

**Job Specification**:
As part of our Claims Inspector team, you will develop the knowledge and skills required to investigate the circumstances of our claims and the extent of the loss or injury, so that you can establish potential claims liability, opportunities for rehabilitation services and ensure effective control of claims costs. You will learn how to negotiate and report quantum, liability and handing tactics to ensure efficient, fair and appropriate settlement for both the customer and NFU Mutual.

You will also:

- Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of objectives.
- Successfully complete all actions, training, and assessments within the Apprentice programme in the relevant timescales
- Continually develop to achieve professional and personal skills to the requirements and standards of the Claims Inspector Apprentice scheme.

**Person Specification**:
To join our claims inspector team, you will be articulate, with good attention to detail. You will be a strong team player and demonstrate both effective communication and listening skills at all levels.

You will also have:

- Experience of gaining information from others to get to the root cause of the issue
- Evidence of proactively seeking opportunities to learn and develop
- Experience of using the full Microsoft Office Suite.
- Some flexibility over location depending on business need.

Ideally, you will have some previous experience in insurance or customer service, and you will show an interest in financial services.

More than anything, you will bring a positive and proactive attitude to NFU Mutual.

**Qualifications/Other**:

- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or have experience working within the sector - A full clean driving licence.
- Good written, communication and PC skills
- 5 GCSE Grades A* to C or 9 to 4 (including English & Maths)
