**Subject Teachers - SEND - West Cumbria**

**Previous experience working in a specialist provision is not required** - as support is available for the transfer to this area of work. If you have experience supporting learners with SEND/Behaviour, attended relevant training or have aninterest in gaining more knowledge and skills in this area - this is a great opportunity to develop these through your work with experienced teams.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

- Plan, deliver and assess teaching and learning using proven methods and approaches that enable SEND (Behaviour) children and young people to learn
- Be a class tutor, ensuring pastoral needs are met and establishing excellent relationships
- Engage and motivate pupils
- Inspire trust and confidence in pupils, colleagues, parents and other professionals
- Implement & review IEP's and communicate with wider agencies/support to meet the needs of the pupil/young person
- Adhere to all working protocols
- Plan and lead children in off-site enrichment activities
- Ensure you uphold all safeguarding procedures, including engaging in annual safeguarding training & induction training

Specification
- Successful class teaching experience.
- Experience of working with children with SEN, SEMH (Behaviour) - or relevant training and desire to develop
- A commitment to ongoing professional development.
- An excellent knowledge of the specialist curriculum area and how it may be effectively taught.
- Teaching qualification/QTS
- Flexibility and resilience

You would work through System People on a supply basis and paid PAYE weekly - **qualified teacher rates are from £140 per day**depending on experience - NQT's from £125.
