Neighbourhood Team Deputy Lead

Professional / Ethical Practice Acting in accordance with Principal Medical Limited (PML) protocols and policies and the Law. Maintaining confidentiality and communicating patient information in accordance with the Caldicott (1997) principles. Working in a non-judgmental anti-discriminatory way, with regard to the cultural and religious beliefs of individuals and groups. Supports and promotes a positive approach to diversity and equality opportunity, to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage in service delivery and employment, and to manage, support or comply through the implementation of local policy.
Working within boundaries of competency and knowledge at all times. Escalate concerns in line with PML and national guidance. Patient Care Undertake assessments, planning, perform investigations within scope of knowledge; order tests, interpret results and act on findings. This necessitates high levels of autonomy and advocacy.
To make clinical judgements surrounding complex health concerns or situations which require analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of care options to enable initiation of interventions to support patients healthcare needs. Educates patients and their carers on issues surrounding health promotion and illness prevention. Promote and facilitate changes of lifestyle where appropriate. Provides clinical expertise, specialist advice and support across service boundaries.
Is able to influence patient pathways, refers to other professional, and sign post to other agencies as appropriate. Leadership Provide a visible, positive and supportive leadership presence for all staff within the service. Inspire a shared purpose by effectively communicating the vision and values of the service and PML. Develop and influence the production of policies, guidelines and protocols to deliver comprehensive, evidence based services for patient within the speciality and beyond.
Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of clinical practice and providing leadership to others. Contributes to the identification of service goals and appreciates how these link to performance targets and quality indicators. Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders and promote effective team working across the service. Assisting to ensure and maintain safe working environments for self, colleagues, patients and others.
Support the team to develop their mentorship skills to provide a highly challenging work space for professional students (nursing students and nursing assistants) Support he development of rotational clinical posts across PML, ensuring adequate support and supervision is in place. Personal / Professional Development Participating in annual appraisals to identify personal / professional development plans. Create personal development objectives in line with PML service planning and vision. Taking an active part in learning opportunities and keeps their own personal learning and development portfolio Participate and complete clinical supervision, ensuring the team are supported to do their jobs well and use learning opportunities to develop.
Identify, develop and deliver educational programmes. Identify the educational and development needs of others and plan how these can be addressed/ resolved. Act as a preceptor/ mentor to staff undertaking further studies in relevant specialist courses. Take personal responsibility for long life learning and personal development through clinical supervision, appraisal and knowledge and skills framework and actively engages with learning and development.
Works closely with new team members to assist them in their professional development. Leads audit and performance monitoring, interprets data, reports and presents audit findings as appropriate. Effectively contribute to change management. Demonstrates continuous evaluation of practice and make changes where appropriate.
Promotes the service and clinical excellence by presenting innovations, audit and research. Attends organisational mandatory training as required by PML. Safeguarding Promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children, young people and adults Supporting the organisation in ensuring service users are protected from abuse, or the risk of abuse and that their human rights are respected Ensuring concerns are responded to appropriately in line with PMLs Safeguarding Policy. Complying with recruitment and other checks as requested.
Governance Work within agreed clinical protocols and all organisational policies and procedures.
