**A bit about the role**:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking, friendly and reliable individual to join our growing production team, as a Goods Inwards Operative.

This role is a real opportunity to experience processing our fresh fish from The World Famous Brixham Fish Market, as well as different production based duties available within our fast-paced and exciting factory.

The type of duties you can expect, but are not restricted to, includes collecting our fresh fish from Brixham Fish Market early each morning in a 7.5 tonne lorry (CPC card required). This will then need to be processed within our Goods In department within the factory, alongside our Goods In production team and later iced-up and stored in our temperature-controlled fridges appropriately.

As a Goods In Operative, you will be based in a chilled environment (fish market & factory) for prolonged periods of time, so full PPE and uniform will be supplied. You will be working alongside our fun and supportive production team, as well as be in communication with our buying team.

**We have introduced an employee development and grading system that allows employees to grow their careers and have a better earning potential. This job advert details a starting salary, but when you progress and improve in the role, your earning also improves.**

An up-to-date CPC card is required to drive our 7.5 tonne lorry between Brixham Fish Market and our depot in Paignton.

Previous production experience would be advantageous, but is not essential as full training will be provided.

Please note, during peak periods, there might be a requirement to work some overtime due to delivery and business needs, which is payable as overtime.

**General duties will include, but are not restricted to**:

- Collecting our fresh fish from Brixham Fish Market early each morning in a 7.5 tonne lorry and returning it to our depot in Paignton by mid-morning
- Processing our fresh fish within our goods in department within the factory alongside the goods in production team
- Following health and safety policies and food hygiene where required
- Assisting other areas as required
- Embracing training opportunities and taking ownership of your own personal development

**A bit about you**:

- An up-to-date CPC card
- Physically fit, with the ability to lift heavy items, stand or walk for extending periods, and work in chilled environments
- Previous production experience would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be provided
- Good time management skills, being punctual and reliable
- Good communication skills with your teammates
- Able to work well independently and in a team
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Demonstrates drive and positive approach to work
- Willingness to learn and progress
- Flexible approach to paid overtime during peak periods

As a Goods In Operative, we are looking for a team player who is willing to help out their production team and support our factory manager and fish buyers at all times. To succeed in this role and retain company standards, you should be physically fit, able to work in a fast-paced environment, have a willingness to learn and bring a positive approach to work.
