**Location**: YPAS Community Mental Hubs, and Peripatetic delivery

**Training**:_**Qualification gained**:_ The Postgraduate Diploma Associate Psychology Practitioner (PgDip APP)
- **Training**:_University of Central Lancashire (UClan) _1 day per week_
- **Placement**:_Young Persons Advisory Service - Liverpool _(4 days per week)_

**Purpose of Role**:
Improve access to early intervention and prevention services, delivering evidence based psychological therapies to prevent referrals to specialist/ targeted CAMHS.

Provide evidence-based psychological interventions with children, young people and parents. Upon successful completion of course, progression onto the Qualified APP

Role (equivalent band 5)

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To manage and maintain a case-load
- To provide evidence-based psychological interventions to CYP and parents who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health and emotional
- wellbeing.
- To engage with families as appropriate to the needs of the child/young person
- To provide group interventions as and when required
- To liaise with teaching staff, pastoral support, parents and carers
- To use outcome measures collaboratively with children, parents and teachers to assess, monitor, evaluate and demonstrate the impact of the intervention as agreed by YPAS
- To utilise MDT process to step up complex cases
- To develop and maintain sound working relationships with external agencies, to enable appropriate support relating to the child’s needs.
- To initiate and support the EHAT (Early Help Assessment Tool) assessments
- To attend safeguarding meetings as and when required by your caseload
- To be Information Governance compliant in regards to Safeguarding Children and Young People's personal data
- To record, file and enter data in accordance with the organisation’s needs.
- To actively promote participation
- To write reports
- To generate monthly statistical information in response to YPAS guidelines
- To play a key role in aspects of the service developments, including monitoring and evaluation.
- To identify and access appropriate training and personal development opportunities
- To be committed to value based and anti
- discriminatory practice

**Essential Qualifications**:

- A minimum of a second-class honours degree or higher in psychology
- Eligibility for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society

**Essential Experience**:

- Experience of working with people with who experience difficulties with mental health and/or physical health, either in a voluntary or paid capacity
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience of working therapeutically with children and young people
- Time limited interventions
- Evidence-based psychological interventions
- Working with complex needs
- Working collaboratively across health, education and social care
- Safeguarding children and families

- Working in secondary education

**Essential Knowledge & Skills**:

- Demonstrates an understanding of the needs and difficulties of young people with psychological/mental health difficulties or other disabilities
- Experience using computers for databases or data
- analysis.
- Ability to undertake psychologically informed research projects under supervision.
- Ability to work with people from different backgrounds and of different ages
- An ability and confidence to interact effectively with staff from all disciplines.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work across a number of different settings
