We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional support to children with hearing impairments and complex needs.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN) and contribute to their overall development and academic progress.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide one-on-one or group support to students with hearing impairments and complex needs, both in the classroom and during specialized sessions.
- Assist SEN students in accessing the curriculum by adapting materials, using visual aids, and implementing appropriate communication strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, speech and language therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Promote the inclusion and participation of students with hearing impairments and complex needs in all aspects of school life, including social activities and outings.
- Monitor and track students' progress, providing feedback to the teaching staff and parents/guardians.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment by promoting positive behaviour and social interaction among SEN students.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress, incidents, and interventions.

**Requirements**:

- ** Enhanced Child & Adult DBS ideally on Update service or willing to apply.**:

- Experience working with children or young people with hearing impairments and complex needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of various communication methods used by individuals with hearing impairments, such as sign language (e.g., BSL) and assistive listening devices.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to build trusting relationships with students with diverse needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion and equal opportunities for all students.
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
