Rostering Officer

The long-haul Rostering Officer will work within the Rostering team, to strategically plan for the long term, balance resources, and improve crew utilization. They will analyze long-haul trip combinations and days off, to produce efficient rosters whilst considering fatigue and lifestyle. They will consider time zone crossings and the impact on the crew member, during and after the trip. They will ensure that Air Crew are rostered in accordance with the Company Flight Time Limitations scheme (FTL) and other regulatory requirements and with due regard to individual welfare and lifestyle.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and build long-haul trips in accordance with company FTL and Scheduling agreement.
- Analyse and build new long-haul routes to ensure productive rostering, considering fatigue, lifestyle, and welfare.
- Undertake manpower planning analysis to estimate numbers required and forecast future requirements, to ensure the company will have the crew numbers to meet demand, considering long-haul routes and company lifestyle agreements.
- Manage long-haul roster changes from publication - 7 days out (Crewing handover period)
- Provide long-haul rostering expertise to the team and other crew resource functions.
- Liaison with network regarding long-haul routes
- Attend regular FSAG meetings together with the Rostering Supervisor and Head of Crew Resource, to discuss and monitor the fatigue on specific trip combinations.
Previous experience in a long-haul crew scheduling role is essential.
Familiarity of manpower planning and analysis.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills with excellent verbal and written command of the English language with good computer skills.
Customer-focused, high changed-oriented and flexible personality.
Planning and organizational skills
Problem solving skills
Capable of working unsupervised on all aspects of Rostering
Capable of making decisions within the remit of the role and terms of reference.
Ideally educated to A level standard or equivalent with 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English (A-C).
