**Your new role**
As Financial Controller you will support the General Manager in all aspects of Financial Control, Planning, Analysis, and Forecasting. You will lead the function to ensure robust financial controls are in place and will work closely with the UK and Irelandfinance teams on key projects and deadlines.
Key responsibilities include: facilitate the timely provision and preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual management and financial information; provide strategic financial and commercial controls in relation to all aspects of their operations;deliver monthly reporting and management accounts packs, including commentary and analysis, for key business stakeholders; support the preparation of statutory accounts, including engaging with external auditors; consult with and manage advisors as requiredincluding tax and legal; responsibility for business planning and forecasting; review of monthly management accounts and consolidation - to include Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash-flow; treasury management - cash flow review, currency, bank contactsetc; assist the General Manager in preparing and presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members; accountable for budget development and financial plans; develop and review forecasts to assist business planning and decision making;evaluate company performance using key data and helping to develop KPIs; work on cost reduction and analysis projects, procurement etc. support management team on financial decisions/projects; ensure all statutory, tax and other compliance returns are completedon time; ensure the Company's financial systems comply with all relevant guidelines and legislation in each jurisdiction; prepare the Company's VAT return; prepare the Year-End Statutory reporting requirements including the tax and return in accordance withthe Group reporting timetable; review payroll output, journals, and control account reconciliations; monitor, manage and investigate any low margin sales through daily checks and scatter graph maintenance and ensure all associated costs are covered on customerpricing requests.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
- At least three years' experience within a Finance management role or five plus years in a Senior Accounting role
- Knowledge and prior experience of complex finance systems
- Excellent understanding of accounting processes and controls
- Excellent computer skills, particularly in the use of Excel and ERP systems for financial analysis and reporting Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, Microsoft Office, ERP and PowerPoint
- Strong Business Knowledge and Control acumen
- Knowledge of the business, transactional and accounting processes are required to manage and implement required controls
- Ability to work as part of Bunzl Group Finance team as well as having a track record of building strong relationships with non-finance team members
- Good analytical and presentation skills as well as the ability to work under pressure
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, communication skills
