Principal Data Analytics Consultant - Microsoft Power BI

Certified Microsoft Power BI Analyst. Responsible for developing visual reports, KPI scorecards, and dashboards using Power BI desktop. Connecting data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business intelligence. Analytical thinking for translating data into informative reports and visuals.

Roles and Responsibilities

The role can be varied and is dependent on the client, sector, and project, which can include:
+ Performance reporting and analysis

+ Develop conceptual data models to improve processes and add strategic value to the business

+ Design and manage databases and data flows to ensure smooth business operations

+ Provide consultative guidance on data management and data governance-related principles within the company, while also inputting on external client proposals when necessary

+ Project management through the entire project lifecycle

+ Line management and informal mentorship of junior staff

**+ Business development**: production of case studies, presentation of best practice, internal/external networking etc.

+ You will perform many of the above tasks as a Principal Data Analytics Consultant at AECOM, utilising your skills and experience to gain exposure to new research and development areas. In collaboration with the wider team, you will be responsible for delivering on deliverables within your projects and initiatives. Your technical expertise will make you able to help clients with their problems in an efficient and effective manner.

Minimum Requirements

+ Prior experience in data analytics and digital delivery

**+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power BI including**:
+ Data modelling with Power Query and DAX

+ Data analysis

+ Development of business intelligence reports and communication of key findings

+ Workspace management

+ Experience with using or exposure to other Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Dataverse, Power Apps and Power Automate

+ Expert in using advanced-level calculations on data sets

+ Understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (extract, transform, load) framework

+ Awareness of system architecture design principles

+ SQL/Python/R background (desirable)

+ Technical leadership and management of small-medium sized projects (2-5 FTE)

+ Requirements capture and management

+ Stakeholder management

+ Workshop facilitation

+ Consulting experience

+ Excellent verbal, written and presentational skills

+ Exposure to cloud computing services such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services

**Other**:
+ Works under limited supervision.

+ May complete assignments of limited complexity, requiring independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

+ Assists in business-related activities and presentations.

+ Produces regularly scheduled reports from multiple data sources.

+ Can analyze and present data for purpose of evaluation.

+ Demonstrates the ability to organize, process, and present information, requiring good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree (min 2:2 or equivalent) in a STEM, Finance, or Business Analytics/Management discipline

**+ Microsoft Certified**: Data Analyst Associate certification (or similar Power BI qualification)

+ Other Microsoft certifications related to Power Platform and Azure (desirable)

+ Member of relevant industry body (desirable) with supporting accreditation/certifications
