Some of the flagship product lines include active vehicle safety systems, sea mine fuzes, modular artillery fuzes, flight termination units, electronic Safe & Arm Units, and electronic Ignition Safety Devices. Originally part of the Teledyne e2v family, Teledyne Energetics also delivers a range of services to its global customer base. Design services include modelling and testing of fully packaged circuitry for control and initiation of detonators, which are carried out at our fully licensed site at Lincoln. Position Summary & Responsibilities:
We are looking for an assembly and test operator who will carry out a range of electronic and mechanical assembly tasks in addition to production related automated testing. Ability to closely follow written assembly instructions, manual dexterity and attention to detail are of the upmost importance in this role to ensure the high quality of our safety critical products. The Assembly and Test Operator will be a key member of the Operations team reporting into the Production Manager and working within a team of a highly skilled and experienced Technicians and Engineers Full training on use of specific equipment will be provided, but experience in the assembly and test of electronic assemblies in a similar environment will be beneficial. Other duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
- Electro-mechanical assembly (PCBs and cables into mechanical housings using various fixings, coatings and encapsulation equipment)
- Automated testing (using computer assisted test equipment)
- Operation of various processing equipment
- Recording the completion of operations using computer software
- Reporting of deviations and non-conformances relating to the assembly and test of product
Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience of carrying out close tolerance work
- Basic computer user skills
- Must be able to follow assembly and test instructions - Must be flexible and hardworking to help support the needs of the business
Desirable Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience in assembly and test of electronic assemblies in a production environment is desirable
- Experience of meeting targets in a pressurised production environment.
