We are recruiting an experienced indoor Pig Stockperson for a farm in North Yorkshire (HG4).

The farm comprises pigs, arable, beef, and sheep. A new farrowing unit was built in 2020 and designed to future-proof the herd with a high standard of animal welfare, sow and piglet comfort, and a good working environment for the team. The next phase of the expansion is extra farrowing house accommodation and a new service house.

A pig stockperson is required due to the expansion of the sow herd at the indoor farrow to the weaning unit, operating a 3-week batch system. Working alongside the sow unit manager and, when required, taking full responsibility in their absence. Some assistance may also be needed for the growing and finishing unit from time to time.

- An interest in and knowledge of pigs
- High welfare standards
- Keenness to learn
- Be a reliable member of the wider team
- Have an eye for detail
- Good IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records
- Be self-motivated
- While experience with all enterprise is not essential, willingness to assist when required would be advantageous
- Skid steer and telehandler experience, but training will be provided if necessary

**Salary**: £30,000 doe

**Plus**:

- Nest pension scheme
- Pay towards a holiday after ten years of employment

**Hours**:
A standard 40-hour week. Occasional loading of bacon pigs. Every third weekend to work, and bank holidays will depend on workload.
