Job Title

Technology Delivery Lead-1

To be responsible for the inception, delivery and completion of projects and/or Projects within the Real Time Payments International Business Unit (RTPi)

To be the primary delivery person within Mastercard, accountable for the e2e Delivery of large complex Projects on behalf of the business.

To partner with Customer Success to establish strong personal relationships with customers so that we are the natural ‘supplier of choice’ based on their confidence in this individual’s ability to deliver complex requirements.

To support Customer Success leader as needed in managing the customer and communicating overall status, risks and issues. Lead in meetings that are Technical or Delivery focussed.

To liaise with the Project Office (PMO) to agree appropriate and focussed levels of assurance to be applied across projects and Projects and meet internal Mastercard governance.

To control and direct the forward planning of project, Project and change requirements to achieve maximum resource flexibility and utilisation. Liaise with internal functions to facilitate effective forward planning.

Key accountabilities and duties

The Delivery Director will be accountable to the EVP Delivery, the role includes the following duties:

- To be accountable for the Technology delivery of real time payment technology solutions to global customers. This includes the development, testing and release of the code, the infrastructure deployment and service transition.
- To manage the controlled change to the solution that underpin the international economies in which we our solutions operate.
- To ensure that such change is managed with due regard to the societal, economic, and financial impact of any issues with these core systems
- Accountable for the creation, definition and execution of the Technology Delivery plan covering the end-to-end build, test & deployment of the customer solution, and the establishment of the production service
- Accountable for determining the Technology Delivery Strategy, documenting how the solution will be delivered given the requirements, constraints and other macro considerations of a specific customer
- Accountable for Risk Management across the Project/s
- Accountable for ensuring Mastercard Governance is adhered to
- Accountable for the Technology Solution budget and quality criteria
- Engagement and ownership of the senior relationship across internal Mastercard teams and key vendors e.g. Product, Engineering, O&T, Endava, NTT, etc
- Accountable for securing the internal commitments needed to deliver the Internal Plan, working with internal stakeholders as necessary
- Directing projects and Projects to ensure delivery on time, to budget and to agreed quality standards.
- Direct and manage the production of Business Units and IT input to proposals and sales responses to ensure competitive costings and delivery plans are achieved without exposing the Business Unit to unacknowledged risks or issues.
- To actively work towards ensuring the growth, future and profitability of the Business Unit
- Understand RTPi pricing models and contribute materially to their development
- Understand and contribute to RTPi sales strategies and product development plans
- Accurately forecast function budgets and revenues, profitability, margins, bill rates and resource utilisation.
- Have in-depth knowledge of contract negotiation techniques and approaches in order to effectively manage suppliers, consultants and vendors in complex multi-sourcing deals, ensuring that the optional outcome for RTPi is assured.
- Be a motivational leader with the charisma and personal qualities to motivate large Project teams to always go the extra mile
- Have the self-confidence to deal with poor performance immediately
- The role will liaise with the COO functions to effectively estimate, plan, initiate and deliver projects and Projects

Delivery Director must:

- Be forward thinking and have the ability to take the holistic view
- Identification and proactive management of interdependencies and knowledge of Project and project complexities
- Use appropriate experience and methods to validate commercial assumptions and commitments on delivery prior to those commitmen
