Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) is looking for a job share Receptionist to work within the Lighthouse Child Development Centre.
The post holder must be flexible, able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team. The role will involve providing a professional reception service to patients, parents/carers and service professionals.
You will undertake various reception duties and provide support to the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be the first point of contact to visitors to the centre and assist patients and their carers as required.
The post holder will have access to the appointment system, book appointments and process relevant information. You will be required to answer all telephone calls from patients and professional staff in a helpful and friendly manner.
To provide a high quality, professional reception and administrative service to patients and their parents/carer, doctors, staff, colleagues, health service professionals and others.
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include, but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, the processing of information and assisting patients as required.
To act as the first point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies and community service providers.
The Lighthouse Child Development Centre provides specialist assessments and outpatient care for children with complex needs. The team recently jointed the Children’s Community Services to provide a more comprehensive service to our patients, carers and families.

Ensuring all clinic patient activity is entered on the patient administration system, SystmOne; Making/changing patient appointments
The postholder will contribute to the conclusion of the clinic session by:
- Collecting/documenting outcome of each patient episode;
- Sorting/securing notes into appropriate order;
- Prompt transfer of all request forms to relevant departments; and
- Returning any documentation to medical records
Support with room bookings and allocation of rooms as required
Ensure health and safety standards are adhered to by all staff
Support the day to day running of the building, eg cleanliness, assist with fire alarm testing and alarm issues, health and safety
To maintain and order supplies as required for service delivery. e.g. stationary
