**1:1 Teaching Assistant**

Location: Walsall

Duration: Full time, on going

**Salary**: £85 - £100 per day

**The School/role**:
We are working with an Ofsted rated 'Good' Alternative Provision school based in Walsall that are seeking a passionate and resilient 1:1 teaching assistant to join their team. The school are committed to offering a second chance to students who may not thrive in mainstream education. Since their establishment in February 2019, the school have been dedicated to providing a positive environment where every student is encouraged to succeed.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting specific students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP's) in Year 9 and Year 11 who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Your responsibilities will include providing personalised assistance, fostering a supportive learning environment, and helping students overcome challenges they may face related to SEMH needs such as anxiety, behavioural difficulties, and social interaction.

The team within the school are very supportive and will help you along the way. The staff in the school aim to give the best possible educational experience for their students. This job opportunity is very fulfilling for people who have teaching assistant experience.

A new enhanced DBS will be needed for this role or a subscription to the DBS update service.

**Requirements**:

- Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
- PECS and Makaton training/experience
- ASD, SEMH, Non-verbal, PMLD, MLD, visual impairment needs experience
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Recent school based references
- Valid Photo ID - Driving Licence or passport
- Full DBS - on the update service
