**Interim priority**:
The main purpose for the interim Group Financial Controller is to support the business through their financial year end with consolidated group accounts, Impairments, IFRS and Audit in addition to supporting the group FD in ensuring the financial and managementreporting activities are carried out efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.

**Principal Accountabilities**:
Monthly/quarterly Group consolidation and reporting:

- Work with the Divisional Management and Finance teams to ensure timely preparation and submission of Group reporting templates
- Oversee consolidation of Group results and preparation of monthly financial Board report for CFO
- Being accountable for maintaining robust controls across the Group
- Oversee month-end review of Divisional submission templates compared to budget/forecast and highlight to the Group CFO exceptions, anomalies and trends
- Responsible for ensuring continuous improvement in the quality of reporting and ensuring accounting policies are effectively developed and consistently applied across the Group
- Work with the CFO and other stakeholders to ensure the continuous improvement of relevant, accurate and timely Management Information and automation of reporting

**Financial reporting and accounts**
- Lead on the preparation of the financial information in the Group’s consolidated annual and interim reports and lead the Group Accountant in compiling statutory accounts for subsidiaries
- Support the CFO in the preparation of the front end of the 'glossy’ financial statements and work closely with the group’s graphic designers to implement the brief required
- Lead the day-to-day relationship with the Group’s external auditors to ensure timely and effective audit in line with the Corporate Reporting timetable
- Provide technical accounting expertise to the Group, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards

**Tax**:

- Key contact with Group’s tax advisers
- Liaise with tax advisers to provide technical expertise to the Group in all areas of tax and consider the tax implications of Group initiatives and developments
- Continuous development and maintenance of transfer pricing policy
- Management of corporation tax (including R&D claims) and employment tax compliance across the Group

**Risk Management, Internal Controls and Compliance**:

- Work with the CFO to inform and update the Group’s Risk Register and Principal Risks and Uncertainties reporting and input to/attendance at Group Audit & Risk Committee meetings as required
- Support the CFO with identifying and investigating internal control breakdowns and oversee internal audit investigations when required
- Support the CFO and Company Secretary in ensuring that the Group compliant with regulatory areas as appropriate

**Annual budget & quarterly forecasting**:

- Work with the CFO to determine internal reporting timetables, templates and instructions
- Responsible for ensuring the timely preparation of the consolidated plc budget and determination and communication of internal recharges, internal dividends and cash flow matters relevant to consolidation
- Review and challenge budget submissions from business, including central functions
- Oversee preparation of the board budget pack

**Treasury**:

- Responsible for working with the Divisional finance teams in preparation of detailed cash flow forecasts and to improve the working capital position of the Group and the management of any facilities
- Key contact with Group’s bankers
- Review and develop the Group’s treasury position and strategy to minimise foreign exchange, interest and transaction costs

**Other/ad-hoc responsibilities**:

- Support the CFO with ad-hoc information and analysis required Board meetings
- Review and remove dormant companies in a well planned and tax-efficient manner
- Support the CFO in providing information and analysis as required for ad-hoc activities (such as corporate bank refinancing or other new banking activities, audit tenders, due diligence etc)
- Involvement in new ERP as necessary
- Manage specific projects as required
