**Hours**:The Hospital operates over a 7day rota system between 06.30 - 20.00hrs

**Payrate**: £10.37 per hour per hour plus enhanced pay for weekends and bank holidays

**About the Trust**

East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust provide services to the local community to around 500,000 people, with the regional cancer centre supporting around 2 million people. They provide care to the community with an annual budget of around £350 million andmore than 5,000 staff.

We have an ongoing placement opportunity available for Kitchen Porters to work within Lister Hospital, East & North Hertfordshire Trust. This role is physically demanding and includes a lot of manual handling.

**This is a Temporary Role**

**What you'll be responsible for**:

- Stock maintenance, rotation, moving and handling stock, stock storage alongside cleaning of kitchen machinery and equipment.
- Our deliveries arrive in large cages and pallets and each item needs to be accounted for and packed away into correct storage area. This role requires lot of manual handling.
- Cleaning of floors and gulleys, using mops, brushes and mechanical floor scrubbers.
- Cleaning machinery and heavy equipment such as boilers, hot plates and cupboards, ovens, steaming ovens, grills, fridges and mixer machines.
- Washing pots and pans in the pan wash area of the kitchen.
- Cleaning and defrosting the cold rooms and deep freezers.
- The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above._

- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.

**You'll need to have the following qualification/experience**:

- Physically demanding and includes a lot of manual handling.
- Experience working in a busy environment.
- Experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organisation skills
