**Location**: Hybrid Head Office and Home based.

**Purpose**: Responsible for supporting the successful design and delivery of the Government Affairs and Communication tactical plans for the Oncology Business Unit Portfolio.

Involved in supporting the planning, development and delivery of high impact political shaping and policy engagement programmes to support the oncology business unit objectives.

At an NHS policy level, involved in supporting the oncology business unit in their shaping of the external environment, engaging with key external NHS stakeholders and influencers at a National, Regional and Local level and optimise patient outcomes.

**Accountabilities and Measurements**

**1. Customer centric Government affairs and NHS policy planning and implementation**
- Supporting the development of a comprehensive integrated government affairs and communications tactical plan
- Supporting engagement with key political and policy stakeholders to drive Daiichi Sankyo’s oncology business unit objectives
- Planning and implementation of a communications strategy which is in sync with government affairs strategy and tactics
- Influence, build and manage external relationships
- Consistently develop key policy messages to communicate with decision makers and parliamentarians
- Support with development of press content and compliance review of external materials including social media and corporate website.
- Manage Government Affairs and Communications agency relationships.

**2. Collaborates within the organisation and externally to achieve brand objectives and to gather internal and external environmental insights**
- Coordinating with relevant internal and external stakeholders to create insight driven strategies and tactics
- Work with the Market Access Director and Senior Government Affairs & Communications Manager to identify opportunities for Daiichi Sankyo to influence policy development and political decision-making
- Proactively monitoring policy and media environment to inform internal decision-making and external engagement opportunities
- Coordinate projects with cross-functional teams across disciplines, including marketing, medical and compliance colleagues, as well as regional above-country teams.

**Technical/Professional Knowledge**:
**Essential requirements**:

- Good understanding of key political and NHS stakeholders and commissioning work with government/communications agencies.
- Experience of supporting the creation and coordination of, high impact political and policy engagement programmes and campaigns.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry/agency in governmental affairs and/or communications role or similar
- Good understanding of the Political and Parliamentary process
- Excellent communications skills; verbal, written, presentation.
- Can work independently in areas of technical expertise
- Proven ability to work collaboratively at all levels within the organisation.
- Effective planning, prioritisation and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional, matrix environment.
- Good understanding of the ABPI code.
- Degree level education (or equivalent), preferably life sciences.

- Experience within the oncology disease area
